Butrint is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries, the ancient city disappeared under layers of silt and vegetation. However, in recent years, archaeologists have discovered the remains of some of the finest functioning cities in the Mediterranean.
On the edge of the lake is the ancient city of Vouthrota. The Venetian tower near the entrance, the ancient theater, the Temple of Asclepius, the ancient gymnasium, the Roman baths, the Roman baptistery with its priceless mosaic floors, the Lion’s Gate, and the massive Cyclopean walls will take you back in time from 2,500 years ago to the 3rd century AD.
At the top of the hill stands the Venetian Castle, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ancient city, the lake, and the plains below.

- Shuttle bus transfers available from your hotel to the main port of Corfu (approx. 20–120 minutes). Please arrive 5 minutes early. Look for the bus with the sign “IONIAN CRUISE”.
